The Boulder Stained Glass Studios
originated in 1976 when a group of craftsmen in Boulder, Colorado
were encouraged to produce leaded glass panels due to the demand
for extraordinary design and craftsmanship. Through the years, their
abilities and level of skill have resulted in the studio's recognition
as one of the finest manufacturers of decorative glass in the western
United States.
Today, the studio's reputation
for high quality glass is widespread and examples of the craftsmens'
work can be seen throughout Colorado, in thirty-four states, and
six foreign countries. Working closely with architects, interior
designers, contractors, and homeowners, the Boulder Stained Glass
Studios have been commissioned to create decorative glass for a
broad spectrum of clients including the State of Colorado; churches
of many denominations; hotels and restaurants, including the Brown
Palace, Clarion, Claridge, Hilton, Broker, and Holiday Inn; convention
centers and resorts, including the Beaver Run in Breckenridge; banks;
offices of professional services; and hundreds of private residences.
In addition, the studios are constantly
engaged in the repair and restoration of age-old window panels and
lampshades, often of priceless value. Using traditional skills and
time-honored methods and materials, the craftsmen are making an
important contribution to historic preservation for future generations
to enjoy.
Visitors are always welcome at
the studios and gallery to see examples of current work and to discuss
ideas for projects both new and restorative. We will aid in selecting
the appropriate technique, type of design, and glass use, and establishing
reasonable budgets. Every commission must be approached individually.
That which is proper in one situation may not be in another. We
are continually developing and researching new design concepts in
decorative glass for all uses.
